Sandy Fitzpatrick, Director

Sandy Fitzpatrick has extensive experience planning and developing communications and public relations strategies for public and private organizations. Her expertise includes media relations, media training and planning, corporate social responsibility, public and community affairs and organizational communications and branding.

Ms. Fitzpatrick was a commercial photographer until she joined the Florida Department of Natural Resources. During her tenure with the agency, she supervised the creative design of all of the agency’s external publications, including the award-winning Florida State Park Guide. She also directed the agency’s endangered species marketing campaigns in coordination with numerous federal agencies and supervised internal communications programs for the agency’s 800 employees.

Ms. Fitzpatrick was then appointed Director of Communications for the Florida House of Representatives where she directed and implemented public information and education programs for the Speaker of the House and 120 members of the Florida Legislature.

After leaving the Legislature, Ms. Fitzpatrick served as the Communications & Educational Policy Director for the Florida Community College System. In this position, she directed and managed the communications and marketing strategies for Florida’s 28 community colleges and provided the colleges with senior-level consulting on media relations, image and reputation.

In Florida and Atlanta, Ms. Fitzpatrick co-founded Fitzpatrick & Lewis, a specialized communications firm serving businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Her Georgia clients include Georgia Natural Gas, the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, AARP, the Jimmy Carter Library, CARE, Workplace Spanish, Women in Recovery and the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra.

Ms. Fitzpatrick is a graduate of the University of Maryland. She is also an honors graduate of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale (A.S., Photography) and holds a Webmaster Certification from Florida State University.

Randy Lewis, Managing Director

Randy Lewis has extensive experience in developing and executing strategic communications plans, community and media relations programs, training for media presentations, planning crisis communications, issues management, public affairs and brand building for corporations, government agencies and nonprofit organizations.

Mr. Lewis began his communications career during the administration of President Jimmy Carter. As an assistant to White House Press Secretary Jody Powell, Mr. Lewis was the youngest person ever to hold a White House staff appointment. He worked with national news executives and reporters daily, developing communications strategies and implementing tactics to achieve the administration’s communications and public policy goals. As a member of the West Wing’s media staff, he traveled the globe extensively, visiting 38 countries on five continents and all 50 United States.

After leaving the White House, he held several senior management positions in Florida government including Director of Communications for the Florida Department of Natural Resources, Press Secretary for the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and Director of Communications for the Florida Commissioner of Education. In these positions, he was responsible for directing the state’s public information and education programs for broad areas of public policy and was engaged in extensive media relations and public speaking. Mr. Lewis also enjoys a strong reputation for bipartisanship and has successfully managed programs and projects for both Democratic and Republican administrations. He has excellent relationships with Georgia’s political and business leadership.

Since leaving public service, he has served as a senior vice president and managing director for three global public relations firms and is a co-founder of Fitzpatrick & Lewis. He has consulted for corporations, government agencies and foundations, including: Georgia Natural Gas, the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, AARP, Cox Enterprises, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Coca-Cola, Equifax, Wellpoint Healthcare, Kohl’s Department Stores, Kodak, The White House, Amtrak, Raytheon, Florida State Board of Administration, Cryovac, Sealed Air Corporation, Floridians for School Choice, The Florida Lottery, World Travel/BTI and The Beef Council.
